Welcome to the only Web site
dedicated to the Hocking Valley Railway, once the largest independent
railroad of Ohio. The Hocking, from it's inception in 1864 as the
Mineral Rail Road, was a major contributor to Ohio's development as an
industrial center.
Within this section of the World Wide Web lies the largest
online concentration of information devoted to the original Buckeye
Route. Maintained by Chris Burchett, he welcomes your
contributions, input and feedback. Anything you may have regarding
the Hocking Valley -whether it be from its earliest days right up to
what has become of its infrastructure and equipment - is greatly
welcomed.
Thank you very much for taking the time to use this Web
site. Every effort is made to ensure the highest accuracy is
attained and maintained throughout each and every page of this
site. Please help continue our goal. It may be well near
eighty years since the Hocking passed from existence, but it's memory
lives on here.
